From 4 October 2015 to 6 January 2016, at Palazzo Sant’Elia, a rare sequence of masterpieces by Filippo Lippi, Giovanni Bellini, Jacopo Bassano, Tintoretto, Caravaggio, Tiepolo, offers a unique opportunity to see the most important works of art from the Banca Popolare di Vicenza Collection, offering for the first time in Sicily a broad panorama of Venetian and Tuscan painting between the 15th and 18th centuries.
The 86 canvases that make up the exhibition “Masterpieces that meet” are compared, allowing you to approach in the iconographic reading, paintings of different schools and of different eras and origins.
The exhibition, promoted by Banca Popolare di Vicenza and the Sant’Elia Foundation, is curated by Fernando Rigon and presents, from the Renaissance to the French Revolution, the themes most treated over the centuries by painting, through an approach that encourages a reflection on the constants of art history
